Chicago is a city where music became movement. Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf helped forge the sound of Chicago Blues, while a new generation of artists— including Buddy Guy—carried that sound forward and pushed it somewhere new. Its influence traveled far beyond Chicago, helping shape generations of musicians and laying important groundwork for rock ‘n’ roll. Even The Rolling Stones took their name from Muddy Waters’ “Rollin’ Stone.” But what makes that story remarkable isn’t simply the music. It is how the tradition was passed forward. The legends shared their stages, their knowledge and their passion with the generations that followed. That spirit of mentorship, legacy and evolution became the inspiration for Chicago.

THE HEAD

• Chicago is a design we have loved for years, first appearing in our 2017 and 2019 lineups. For Small Batch Midwest, we returned to the silhouette and completely reimagined it. Inspired by elements of our Madison, Austin and Small Batch Tulsa designs, Chicago is slightly shorter and wider than a traditional blade, creating a beautiful symmetrical profile. It also introduces a first for Small Batch. Chicago uses a double-bend shaft configuration that brings the putter close to face balanced. With just 10 degrees of toe hang, it’s designed for golfers with less arc and rotation in their putting stroke. The shoulders combine angular structure with carefully softened edges and radii. Structured, yet organic. Much like the music that inspired it.

THE STORY

• The sole carries the Buddy Guy signature polka-dot motif exactly 34 times in tribute to Buddy Guy and another Chicago icon, Walter Payton. Payton, known simply as “Sweetness,” wore number 34 throughout his legendary career in Chicago. Two Chicago legends. Two different worlds. One city.

THE DETAILS

• Chicago is slow milled from 904L stainless steel and finished in our Brilliant Black PVD, creating extraordinary depth and reflectivity. The face features our Ultra Fine Double Fly Cut, delivering precise feedback and a distinctive acoustic character. A crisp white sight dot, Black Stepless Steel Double Bend shaft and Black and White Toulon Pistol Midsize grip complete the package.
