Not Compressing Where It Counts
It is a compression sock but compresses on the ankle far more than anywhere else. It does not have the arch compression support

Comfortable Work Day
I bought a pair of these a month ago as a test, and have bought a second pair since. I work construction having to wear work boots daily long hours and these have made it possible for me to make it comfortably through the day. I also now wear them daily with my tennis shoes or dress shoes eliminating most all foot pain.

Great For Recovery
I do not wear these while running or working out but I have found that wearing them for even a couple of hours in the evening, before bed, have helped a lot for my sore feet to recovery from a long run or other exercise.
