The Titanium OPTM LS fairway model is designed for faster players seeking maximum speed and control in a compact, low spin clubhead. Using an advanced expertise and understanding of club inertia, Cobra engineers have maximized MOI and a lesser known but critical stability measurement called POI to deliver Cobra's most forgiving and accurate LS model ever. THE FIRST FAIRWAYS TO OPTIMIZE POI FOR STRAIGHTER MISS-HITS
- Until now, MOI has been the primary measurement companies focus on to optimize club stability and forgiveness. Cobra is the first company to talk about a lesser known measurement called POI, which accounts for club rotation across all 3 axis (horizontal, vertical and diagonal twisting that occurs during off-center hits). The OPTM fairway woods are the first to optimize both MOI and POI through strategic weight placement & shaping to create a super fairway wood - one that dramatically reduces gear effect to deliver tighter disperson for longer and straighter off-center shots.
RESHAPED FOR FORGIVENESS
- To optimize MOI and POI, the mass is positioned more symmetrically across the 3 key axis and tightened around the CG to minimize the clubs diagonal resistance to rotation. Using A.I. driven simulation tools, Cobra engineers have studied millions of impact locations to gain an expert understanding of gear effect and how to determine the optimal location of the metal/mass, and moveable weights in each model.
TITANIUM CONSTRUCTION WITH TUNGSTEN
- A multi-material construction blends a lightweight 8-1-1 Titanium body and face, and a carbon crown to improve weight distribution and deliver driver-like distance. The use of Titanium over steel creates additional discretionary weight that allows for 37.5g of Tungsten to be positioned low and forward in the heel and toe areas to optimize speed and forgiveness.
