SPIN POCKET™ CONSTRUCTION

  • A re-engineered 3-piece construction head design strategically reshapes mass to optimize CG locations. The Spin Pocket redistributes weight higher, raising the CG, and promoting a more penetrating launch. TUNGSTEN WEIGHTING

54x Grind

All around great wedge, particularly with the shaft feels exquisite. I can count on this as my go to Club.

Great Upgrade

The SP+ wedges are replacing a pair of Chrome Platinums, and so far the main difference I notice is a bit more forgiveness. I also seem to get the same distance with a less forceful swing. The ball trajectory seems higher and landings softer. All in all a worthwhile upgrade for this senior golfer.

Not Impressed

Not a fan, spin is worse than the Opus Platinum and several other wedges I own. Expensive experiment after I kept trying and missed the return by a day.

Great Wedge

Great wedge!!! I been playing with Opus SP wedge before the +. SP+ is definitely more forgiving when you hit it from a rough or from a lie where the ball sit up high or soft fairway.

Too Heavy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The additional 13+ grams makes this wedge heavier than the standard SP wedge. It definitely produces more spin, but the increased swing weight also makes me choke down on the grip more than I do with the standard model. I wish Callaway had disclosed this on their website.

Outstanding Short Game Wedge With Spin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Previously I carried a 2 hybrid leaving me with only a Opus SP 54 degree SW. I struggled with chips inside 30 yards with the SW so I purchased a 60 Opus SP +. This wedge is getting me far closer to pins from 0-30 yards and I’m pleased with the spin generated from the fairway.

Amazing Wegde For Feel, Spin And Control

I have the Opus SP black 56 and 52 (the SP+ was released a week after). I was so happy with those two that I decided to add a 60 in my bag, so I purchased the SP+. When you hit the ball in the center of the face you can hear the "echoish" click and then you know the ball is loaded with spin. It feels easy to control spin and the direction of the ball.

Great Sand Wedge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 2 of these wedges. One for my son as a gift and one for me. I just played Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, NC where they play the Wyndham Championship Tournament. A Donald Ross course where you must keep all chip shots & sand shots below the hole or you're screwed. This club is the bomb! I've never chipped closer to the hole with any other club in my life. Great stopping power. Love it! Buy it, it will improve your short game!

Excellent Ball Flight

Sp+ Greatness

Great Wedge for playing around the green. I’m an average weekend hack and this SP+ is such an awesome addition to my short game. If you’re on the fence - get it! I got the 56 12 w X grind.
