New Full-Face Studio Carbon Steel (SCS) Inserts
Each 2026 Phantom mallet features a new full-face Studio Carbon Steel (SCS) insert with chain-link face milling, fine-tuning sound and feel while preserving ball speed off the face. SCS inserts first debuted in the 2025 Studio Style lineup after extensive testing to find the optimal combination of material and milling. Carbon steel, which has a greeter damping capacity than metal inserts like Teryllium, stainless steel and aluminum, softens sound by limiting the duration of the tone of the strike. The chain-link milling technology reduces the number of touchpoints with the golf ball at impact to further soften sound while maintaining feel and feedback for the golfer — a key hallmark of Scotty Cameron putters.

Across the three head shapes, the new Phantom lineup offers five unique neck and shaft configurations, providing a wide range of options to match different stroke types and player preferences. Brand-new to the Phantom family is a low-torque Onset Center (OC) configuration in the Phantom 5 OC. Tour-Influenced Shaping
New Phantom putters feature several head shape and profile refinements, all of which were directly informed by tour player feedback.
Deeper faces and modified crowns: New Phantom putters have a taller height at face center and an increased radius on the topline, both of which affect subtle visuals at address and can translate to better path into the ball.
Redesigned soles: New Phantom putters feature a flatter sole design with more surface area to sole the putter consistently, particularly across different slopes and grass types. Justin Thomas played a key role in its development, providing feedback to create a shape that helps keep the putter soled in a solid and square position for a more repeatable setup.

I’ve had labs and this is hands down the best putter I’ve ever used. I’ve always loved the Scotty feel and sound and this has both and is not terrible to look at. Give it a shot, you won’t regret it!

Finally, I Can Hit It Straight
I’m not one to switch putters. Once I’ve found one that “works” for me, I’ll use it for a long time. But I will test new technologies just to see how and if things have changed. My 10+ year old Spyder has been a reliable and faithful friend. Notwithstanding, I wanted to try a zero torque model. I tried a new Odyssey with a mallet head, severely forward-leaning shaft, and zero torque design. Worked great in the store, but when I took it to the course, I just couldn’t get a good feel. Distance control was lost and I saw that the deviations from missed putts were no different than my Spyder. Not horrible, but not an improvement. After playing with it for a goods 6-8 rounds and hours on the putting green, I had to return it. Fortunately, Golf Galaxy has a generous return and replace policy. That’s when I tried the zero torque Phantom 5, among a number of equally popular designs and brands. I didn’t want to like the Phantom, because I believe Scotty Cameron putters are materially overpriced. But then again, what modern “designer” putter isn’t? Putting my prejudice aside, I was very impressed with the Cameron line of zero torque putters. I closed my eyes to the price tag and bought the Phantom. I’m not joking, I have never consistently putted so straight. As long as you hit the ball in the center, there is absolutely no twisting. Hitting offline only happens when I line up incorrectly. As long as I’ve picked the right line, that’s were the ball goes. Sounds logical, but I have not had this feeling with any putter which uses an offset shaft placement. I’m putting much more confidently and much more accurately than ever before. It’s become one of my favorite clubs in the bag. Thanks Scotty. I shouldn’t have been so hard on your product line. For me, this club is a keeper!

This is the best I have ever putted. It falls into line easily. It is so well balanced it’s hard to feel the need to over grip the club. I am 6’4 shooting the 35 inch. It goes where I tell it to.
