I have only used the cooler on a short trip to transport some frozen meat, no ice was used, just put the frozen meat in the cooler and the meat remained frozen solid after 10 plus hours. The 4 star is based on warping of the lid after spending time in hot weather during an unsuccessful tuna fishing trip but, the cooler resettled back to its normal form once of out the heat.
