Excellent For School And Sports Practice

I bought these bottles with the flip chug cap two months ago for my kids. They prefer this ones rather to the flip straw cap. No leaking. The lock is a great feature to have. They used them for school and also for playing sports. The liquid conserve the cold temperature for hours.

Design Flaw Or One Off Issue

I generally LOVE yeti products, I’m loving this royal purple too!. I’d been waiting for this flip chug cap (hate cleaning straws & don’t want mouth wrinkles!). I was shocked by some low start reviews on this product & so I read them. I must say there are definitely some issues with the lock ring getting stuck in the far left lock position. The lock ring can get stuck and won’t go back to center. I don’t really need it locked so it’s not too much of an issue for my day to day use. I’m torn between keep using it & hoping it doesn’t get worse (become more “sticky”) & reaching out for a new one. Idk if it’s a design flaw & it will happen to all of them or an assembly flaw in the one I happened to get.

Who Approved This Lid?

This lid is terrible, not sure how they approved this. The rotating part is super light to open the lid, but if you lock it, it takes way to much force to unlock it. And to close it, you have to reach to the back, flip it up past the handle, and use another finger to grab it, and close it completely. Also, the spring lid does flick water when you open it, which is common for these spring lid designs. I didn't even use the bottle, I just tested the lid, and put in for a return. Side note, I ordered the Olive/King Crab color. It looks way nicer in the photos. In real life the orange and green are very unsaturated.

Lid Isn’t Straight Compared To Design

We were so looking forward to getting our new Yeti Rambler Water Bottles with personalizations, but I have to say that I am disappointed, maybe it’s just ocd on my part, but it really bugs me that the bottle tops are crooked compared to the designs.

Finally Solved The Problem Of The Original Chug Ca

I bought this recently after having some problems with getting an over-tightened chug cap base off my rambler bottle. The flip chug cap lid works well. I just wish I could have bought the lid only for my favorite cherry blossom colored yeti bottle (limited time color) instead of needing to buy a whole new bottle, because the flip chug caps in all colors were all sold out. It’s easy to get on and off. The locking mechanism can be removed for cleaning.

The Locking Flip Top Lid Needs Improvement

I've always been a fan of YETI products, so I was excited when they finally released a flip-top bottle, especially one with a locking lid. As expected from YETI, the bottle does an excellent job of keeping my water cold. Unfortunately, the lid design could use some improvement. My first issue is the oversized handle on top. It's bulky and cumbersome, especially when the bottle is in my car's cup holder. I frequently bumped into it and now have to make a point of positioning the handle away from me. The large handle also takes up unnecessary space when packing the bottle in a bag alongside other items. My biggest complaint, however, is the lock/unlock slider. When the bottle is unlocked, sliding it to open the lid generally works as intended, although the lid occasionally sticks, which I've experienced with other flip-top bottles as well. The real problem occurs after locking it. The slider often seems to jam, making it impossible to move it in either direction. After some trial and error, I discovered that I can get it to work again by using my fingernail to slightly lift the back of the slider before moving it to unlock and open the lid. Overall, the bottle delivers on temperature retention, but the lid design, particularly the handle and locking mechanism, needs refinement to match the quality I've come to expect from YETI.

Just started using it, came while I was on vacation! I really like the locking mechanism for the flip-top. However, the handle is bulky & gets in the way of being able to drink from the spout. I’ve tried changing positions of how I hold it, but still is not comfortable. Other than that, seems to keep liquids cold (haven’t used it with hot drinks), a good size, a bit snug in my car holder, but that I can deal with.

Love The New Flip-top!

So happy with the new flip-top design. We were hesitant to buy with some of the negative reviews, but went for it and bought them for our 3 kids (ages 6, 9 & 11). They all figured out the flip-top design quickly and it’s been awesome. No spills, no accidental openings, easy to flip open, no complaints! We just bought them each another one in a larger size for school next year.
