Surprised By Performance

Read some good reviews and decided to give it a try. Previously played Bridgestone Tour B XS. From the Tee I loss some carry distance but we are talking around 5 yards on well struck driver, on missed hits behaved similar as XS. Different sound on impact on all clubs more brittle on the face and penetrating air turbulence on well compressed shots. Around the greens if you want stopping power you have to be pure on pitch shots, the XS was more forgiving and responsive around the greens but it is a "spin model". The biggest difference was on Mid to Long iron shots this ball will take one big bounce forward and then stop, while the XS I would back spin a 4 iron. Ball flight is not as high as I was expecting and it penetrates well on windy days when playing a knock down shots. Putting took a little to get used to it since Maxfli is firmer and seemed to jump off the face of my putter and I had to focus more on tempo, it does have true roll from the putter. One ball will last 18 holes with a few scuff marks but didn't seem to affect the ball flight much, while other softer model balls I would destroy in about 8 holes from compressing the ball on full short iron and wedge shots.

A Trustworthy Golf Ball

The Tour X is a golf ball that is consistently solid in all areas of the game. I especially like the feel of this golf ball in comparison to the ProV1x and the TP5X off the tee. It doesn’t have that clicky, or harder feel to it in comparison. Around the greens it spins as much as I would expect and it’s got a softer feel off the putter as well. I feel that the durability is also better, and for the price point, that is a win win.
