i bought original battery would hold up for 2 todays i bought in 2019 i had to replace the in 2020 used a extended battery found a battery replacement on amazon it was a bad battery called the company direct sent me a replacement battery it works better than the original

Does What I Need But Not User Friendly

Bought this to replace prior model I lost. Not as instinctive as the prior model. I've only used it once so I haven't had a chance to practice with it. I didn't need all the bells and whistles with the G80

Expected more for the money. Turning off is still not clear. Have to recharge each day of use.

Battery Lasts 17 Holes

The reason I bought another one of these is because my old one’s battery failed. Now the brand new one has the same problem. On a full overnight charge it only lasted 17 holes! I expected better from German and Dicks.

Good Features, Sometimes Difficult To Use

I replaced my Garmin G5 with the G8. Although it appears accurate with great golf course coverage, it sometimes gets confused on switching between seeing an overview of the hole (distance measures) and the actual green. I also found once it starts to Measure a shot, it’s difficult to turn this off and switch back to an overview of the hole. Garmin needs to fix this in a software update. I like the feature to keep scores and sync with my IPhone.

Golf Galaxy Customer Service Is Bad

I received as Christmas present and have used 3 times since courses opened in Midwest. Call Golf Galaxy and past 90 day window with the virus. They no longer sell this unit and pushed me to Garmin. Have spent $3,500 with them and they won’t work with me on a defective unit they no longer sell.

I bought the G8 to replace my G6 that stopped working due to a broken power switch. Has more features than my old Garmin and works great.

Not So Impressed

first and foremost the screen is not that great, it is not bright nor vibrant and crisp and when it is sunny out it is even harder to see on the tiny screen. secondly it is touchy and hard to navigate. if your finger accidentally touches a part of the screen it sends you off to another screen and trying to get back the original screen is a pain. the touch and drag feature is substandard as well. this device would be ok for about $69 but $299 is just ridiculous. bad investment on my part as it sits unused on my desk.

Let's see if anyone pays attention!!! I bought this as an upgrade to my older unit which has served me well. So I opened the package and started to download to set it up and LOOK!!!! It already had 2 courses that had been played on it!!! I paid for a brand new unit and got a used one!! I contacted Garmin and they verified that it had been regestered before. Imagine my dissatisfaction. Then I called your company and got someone who could have cared less. She said "I can't do anything. All you can do is send it back, we will issue credit and you can then buy another one" Well......I used a coupon for $50 off that I got in the mail so now the price would be even higher!!! Someone needs to take a look at return policies or quality control overall. VERY UNHAPPY!!! Also, it had to be pulled from a local store inventory because these courses are in the area.

Perfect Size, Easy To Use!

I wanted a gps that I could keep in golf cart and hold in hand on approach, perfect size for that. Lots of features... more than I need. Keeps score for 4 people, easily move cursor to area you ate aiming and gives accurate distance. I'm happy with purchase, simple to use and not bulky.
