I've been gaming the TaylorMade Spider Tour X L-Neck for a while now, and it’s safe to say it’s earned a permanent spot in my bag.
Feel & Balance:
The first thing I noticed was the incredible feel. The L-Neck provides a nice amount of toe hang, which is perfect for my slight arc stroke. It's a great middle ground between a face-balanced mallet and a traditional blade. The putter head is stable throughout the stroke, and the feedback off the face is soft but responsive—thanks to the Pure Roll insert.
Alignment & Confidence:
Visually, the alignment aid is excellent. The short sightline paired with the more compact Spider X head shape makes it easy to aim without overwhelming your eyes. I find myself lining up more confidently and consistently, especially on those tricky 6-10 footers.
Performance on the Greens:
This putter really shines on mid-range putts. The weight distribution helps keep the face square at impact, and mishits still roll true. I’ve also noticed my lag putting has improved; it’s easier to dial in distance control with this putter than with my older blade.
Overall:
The Spider Tour X L-Neck is ideal for players who want the forgiveness of a mallet with the feel and flow of a blade. It blends stability with precision beautifully. Whether you're struggling with alignment or looking for a more confident roll, this putter delivers.
Rating: 9.5/10
(Only losing a half-point because it might not suit players who prefer a full arc or super lightweight feel.)
