The JPX925 Hot Metal redefines the performance of an already industry-leading franchise. Combining the power and speed of Nickel Chromoly with a newly engineered CORTECH Design featuring a Contour Ellipse face, the consistency of distance across the entire impact zone has never been as long and predictable. The addition of tungsten weighting low in the head adds a height and landing angle element that makes hitting precise shots into greens easier than ever.

FEATURES

  • CORTECH Design featuring Contour Ellipse Face: A completely re-engineered multi-thickness face profile that pushes to the extremes, getting up to 30% thinner than the previous generation. The Contour Ellipse Face enhances center ball speed and ensures maximum speed retention throughout the impact zone.
  • Multi-Material Construction with Tungsten Weighting: Tungsten positioned low in the 4-7 irons creates a higher launch with a lower sweet spot, producing a steeper landing angle.
  • Chromoly 4140M: Allows for a high strength face with a bendable hosel for fitting, due to its high strength to weight ratio and malleability.
  • Seamless Cup Face: One-piece Cup Face geometry with thinned areas revolving 360 degrees around the perimeter, increasing rebound area for maximum ball speed across the entire face.
  • Variable Sole Thickness: Increase overall face flex area for added CORAREA.
  • Balanced Stability Frame: Balanced weighting improves control while maintaining forgiveness and producing a tour preferred vibration and sound.
  • Harmonic Impact Technology: Fine-tuned head geometry delivers ideal feel and feedback at impact.
  • Acoustic Sound Ribs: Precisely dialled in vibration patterns for a solid, explosive impact sound.
  • Chromoly 4140M: Allows for a high strength face with a bendable hosel for fitting, due to its high strength to weight ratio and malleability.
  • White Satin Brush Finish: A modern elegant, yet durable non-glare finish.

Some Disappointing Short Comings

I moved from the JPX Hot Metal 919s because the grooves on the short irons were worn out. I resisted buying the JPX 921 or the 923 because I absolutely loved the 919s; but it was finally time to move on. I bought the JPX 925s with UST Mamiya Recoil DART shaft F3. I do not use senior shafts as they are much too light. I play three times a week. My average score is 82. I play from the 5,800 tee box as I am 78 years old. What I don't like about the 925s. Too much offset. Too strongly lofted. The new technology with regard to face thickness and the resulting extra distance is not enhanced with stronger lofts. The stronger loft results in a loss of accuracy and an inability to hold the green. I have never needed offset as my typical miss is left because of over active hands. The offset on this clubs, though not as great as other game improvement clubs does cause me to miss more often than I did with the 919s. The offset and resulting left miss is most pronounced in the wedges P G S. What I liked about the 925s: Crazy distance with all irons. At least 20 yards over my old 919s. Feel is good which is typical of Mizuno. Forgiveness/distance of off-center hits is amazing. Short iron impart a nice amount of spin. For me, these clubs come in at four stars.
