The softside bigger carry on performs well. The first time I used it a gentleman that offered to take it down from the airplane's overhead bin commented that it was a "nice looking suitcase". It's stable and rolls well. One aspect of the suitcase that could be improved is the external compartment, it doesn't expand so at best you can keep a slim folder with few papers in it. On my previous suitcases this is where I would place an umbrella, but that is not possible with this suitcase.
