Never Worked ProperlyI purchased the SGX less then a month ago and have returned it. It never worked properly in the time I owned it. Customer service is terrible, 30 – 45 minutes before you get to talk with anyone is standard and tech support is done on-line using the keyboard. I owned a SG5 for three years and am sorry I sold it. The joystick is a laugh and was told by Skygolf CS to turn it off. I will not be buying anything from Skygolf until they fix their Customer Service.

Great new features and impeccable accuracy.I have not had any trouble with it at all like some people have mentioned. The unit synchronized with both my Vista 64 bit and XP 32 bit computers and the updates from SkyGolf have improved the software in the short time I've owned the unit. The HoleVue™ feature is spectacular, as you can move the cursor to wherever you want on the screen and the distance will update in real-time. Highly recommend this unit as it will only get better as more courses are mapped for the HoleVue™ technology.

Good and BadI've had my unit since mid-April. I love the new features & I always trust the yardage. I prefer ground mapping to the other units that use sattelite mapping. However, I have had one problem that is annoying. If the unit gets bounced around just slightly, the unit will lock-up and I have to reset the hole each shot. Every once in a while I get an exception error at boot-up so that nees to be fixed. For the price, I'm annoyed but they seem to keep improving the product. Waiting for more fixes.

The best GPS on the market at a price..SGX – best overall features, easiest to use during a round, stats, highest cost. A G5 – most durable unit, best screen/has touch screen, lacks in stats and keeping score in a round is the most difficult. OnPar – I wanted to love it but it is not an iphone. The screen does not respond to touch as you would like and I found it the least accurate. If you like to micro-manage your game and every shot this is the unit for you. The definition on the screen was the biggest disappointment. B-

Extended Use ReviewThe SGX is still a great GPS but I thought I would write this review after using it for several months. On the good side great interface distances, entering scores etc., very visible and easy to read screen, incredibly ACCURATE, fairly easy to navigate, some of the best detailed maps of courses out there love the Green view. On the downside, after a recent download my unit froze permanently and had to be replaced, the joystick loses sensitivity, holds limited courses and score cards.

Easiest GPS unit on the marketEase of scoring/puts/drives in the fairway make the keeping of stats a lot less intrusive to the OnPar. It does lack a touchscreen but you get over that fast as it is very intuitive. New drivers released today overcome all synching problems. My only issue is it does not mark as many points/hazards on the main screen as I would have liked look at the one shown as it charts the ideal path only. Overall, my favorite unit when compairng the OnPar and G5 for ease of use and features.

My Third Skycaddie and Best So FarI have owned 3 different models of Skycaddie. This is definitely the best so far. It picks up and stays on the satellites. I had problems with losing the satellites and having to reset the GPS on the sg4 I had. Plus the sg4 was slow displaying the yardage. Not so with the SGX. I have one complaint. When you rotate the unit to get the green view sometimes I have to do it a couple of times to get the horizontal instead of the vertical display. That said not a biggy.

8 Months & 3 Units LaterI do love this GPS but it simply cannot stand up to regular use. My first unit had to be replaced as it froze after a mandatory software update. This was a relief as the joystick had lost all sensitivity. I got the second unit and again, after about 10 rounds the joystick is starting to die again. Fortunately, this unit has frozen as well and needs to go back. I do play a lot of rounds but I am very careful with handling it. Hopefully 3 will do the trick.
