PING G440 Hybrid

About This Item

The G440 hybrids appeal to a variety of skill levels, each engineered to deliver different ball- flight characteristics – from the slightly fade-biased 2 hybrid for off-the-tee performance to the draw-inducing 5, 6 and 7 hybrids that help optimize gapping. They all share a new, shallower and thinner face design, which improves face contact for more ball speed and higher-launching shots that hit and hold the green. A lower CG in the multi-material heads (stainless steel, maraging steel and carbon) also contributes to ball-speed gains for more distance. The slimmer back weight allows for a more contoured sole design to ensure the club sits flush to the ground and the face angle remains consistent.

Re-designed Face Structure

  • A shallower face (8%) helps golfers hit higher on the face, which in turn helps them launch their hybrids higher. A thinner face (6%) and optimized face profile help increase ball speed in the middle of the face and control ball speed on off-center strikes.

Free-Hosel Technology

  • By removing 4g from the hosel, screw, and heel section of all hybrid lofts, mass savings lower the CG by 12% and combine with the reduced face height to increase launch and stopping power without compromising ball speed.

Contoured Sole Design

  • Slimming down the back-weight profile ensures that the club sits more flush to the ground and the face angle remains consistent – no matter the loft or lie setting -- allowing golfers to benefit from the multiple loft and lie options provided by the adjustable hosel.

Extensive Loft Offerings

  • Each hybrid is designed to fit golfers with various skill levels. The 2 hybrid (17°) is slightly fade-biased with a lower, more penetrating flight for off-the-tee performance. Loft has been increased by 1° in the 3 (20°) and 4 (23°), hybrids for higher launch with a neutral flight and more stopping power. The 5 (26°), 6 (30°) and 7 (34°) hybrids provide a slight draw bias and higher launch to help them fly straighter and gap well into an iron set.

Trajectory Tuning 2.0 Adjustable Hosel

  • The lightweight, 8-position hosel enables adjustments for loft (±1.5°) and lie (up to 3° flatter than std.) to further dial in ball flight for the best results.

Love My 440 Hybrids But Want More!

I upgraded from 425's to 440's earlier this year and love everything about them. So much so I have to ask the question as to whether there is any consideration being given to expanding the range and adding 8/9/P hybrids? With more hybrid full sets appearing in the market, I believe there is an opportunity for Ping to take ownership of this trending category of full sets of hybrids and in an ageing population, more hybrids make so much sense, and if clubs such as the ChipR and BunkeR have been released to address helping people enjoy golf more, why not add 8/9/P?

Need More Adjustability

I love ping and the adjustable hosel however I need more flat than it offers. Especially for my G410 9 wood and the new G440 hybrid. Wish ping could develop a new adjustable hosel that allows for up to 4 degrees flat settings

These hybrids work great for me, and they come with a variety of options.

Confidence Builder

No more 4 and 5 iron. Bought this 5H. Great feel amd easy to hit. Still…trajectory a bit low for approach shot for me. Will pick up 6H next. The adventure continues!

Long Hitting Hybrid

This Ping G440 5 hybrid hits it further than my 9 wood with a higher loft. For me it goes about the same distance as a 7 wood. The face is a bit offset so that helps a fader or slicer.
