Lid Not Leak Proof

I recently acquired a Yeti mug with a straw lid. I purchased a “replacement” lid in order to have the option of hot drinks in my new mug. The new lid is absolutely NOT leak proof. I will, therefore, have to only use the mug at home and not for traveling.
