Strange Design - Plastic Parts, Doesn't Stay Hot

Overall disappointing. The ceramic is nice, but the cheap plastic parts ruin it. They shouldn't use any plastic at all, and should be all metal, like most other high-end french presses. The plastic top doesn't keep it warm, so I always keep a dish towel on top to try to keep the heat in. Most times pouring, it runs down the side. At this high price-point very disappointing compared other brands that are less expensive. Wish they would make the plastic components all metal, and have a true vaccum-sealed ceramic top, that keeps the heat in.

Almost Perfect

Beautiful and well built. The opening in the top remains open all the time. I think this really makes it difficult to keep coffee as hot as possible. A mechanism to slide the opening shut, I think would greatly improve performance and decrease risk of spillage.
