Functional Aesthetics

I've been playing the standard Eleven putter with the White Hot insert for two years; it's the most solid and steady putter I've owned, but I thought maybe an upgrade would help, so I ordered this Milled Eleven Tour Lined Double Bend with the Golfpride Pro Only Blue Star grip. It's obviously a precision instrument, a thing of beauty designed for a specific purpose: to put the ball in the hole. The double lines on top align precisely with the width of the ball, leaving no doubt about aim or strike point. The feel is beyond solid; it's like a vault door lockup, propelling the ball like a machine with perfect spin down the line. It's surprisingly heavy yet takes significant force to get the ball to the hole. It's almost easy to lag to the vicinity on long putts; short putts seem automatic. I like the understated clean look and the dark color to reduce glare. For a traditional look, straight back and through, face balanced, steady mallet style putter, this is the best.
