Purchased the Jailbird Counter Balance Putter after spending several hours at various golf stores demo'ing lots of various brands/models. Have mainly used an Anser type Putter for all the years I've been playing golf and wanted to transition to a mallet/counter-balanced Putter because I have more of a pendulum type stroke. Understand you can only ascertain certain characteristics when trying out on a synthetic putting green inside of a store, but you determine such aspects as weight, how it feels and does it square up to match your stance/stroke type. Immediately after choosing this version over the Jailbird Milled version (like the blue/color scheme on standard Ai One Model with White Hot insert to assist with alignment more than blue/steel colored Milled version) although I actually preferred the feel of the Milled face better, I went to a local practice green and starting rolling some putts. The overall weight of the Putter is noticeable with the 38" shaft and head weighing more than non-counter balanced model, but it makes you focus on keeping a more smooth, even tempo stroke. The ball doesn't come off as fast as the Milled titanium face model and has a soft, but not too soft feel. I wasn't initially drinking the coolade on the ai hype technology of the face, but can personally attest its the real deal! Putts near the heel or toe are not heavily penalized and distance is almost exactly as those off the center of the face. The longer shaft leaves a couple of inches protruding above your hands, which lends a more balanced feel when putting. It also allows you to grip up more on the staff, allowing you to stand more straight up if that's your preference. So far been very pleased with how this Putter feels and performs. Inspires lots of confidence which I believe is an underrated trait.
