Absolutely Phenomenal Blade, But Is A True Blade

I have played a graduated Taylormade RAC set since 2000, so the weight profile has been and easy change in the 7-PW. I used to be scratch+ and probably play to a 4 handicap, so I know these are not clubs for everyone. These will give you a very old school “sting” in the hands if you aren’t hitting the ball fairly pure. You don’t need a pro swing to play these, but you WANT a repeatable, accurate swing that is quick through the strike area. MP-18s will not help any player who is seeking forgiveness from any shot. All of that be said, if your swing is accurate, consistent, and speed peaks through impact.... try MP-18s. I’m seeing a narrower spread, more consistent distance, and better feel on misses.

Best Feel And Accuracy Possible.

I long waited for the 718 AP2, nice but not what I expected in the feel department. I sold off the AP2 and started the search again, after testing EVERY premium iron available in Los Angeles (Honma, Fourteen, TM, Callaway, Titleist, PXG, and others) I settled on Mizuno MP18. I play to a 9 handicap, I have two rounds with these babies playing to my HP and a bit better. IMHO there is no better looking or feeling iron. With the right shaft, these are the perfect club, so accurate it is sick. They go high and a bit shorter that I expected, after bending 2 deg, the distance is 5 yards longer and the same as the AP2s, the trajectory flattened up a bit, and I now love these. Even with the same shaft, the MP18 fly a bit higher than the AP2 718. After 13 years of suffering around with other forged irons (since the MP32s) I'm back to irons that look and feel amazing.
