Rated 5 out of 5 by from Regained lost distance Recently read an article in Golf magazine that had 10 tips on how to regain lost distance for us older golfers, one of which was to not use urethane balls, which is most of the market. So I did a ball test vs Pro V-1's, Bridgestones, Pinnacle, and Taylormades. Over several months of play sure enough the Velocity beat the others by about 8-10 yards. BTW I'm an 8 handicap who used to hit a 245-250 yard drive, but had fallen to 225, now back to 235, with a Ping G30. At my fitting last year the pro still put me in a stiff shaft, so my swing hasn't slowed down that much. My conclusion is that I just can't compress the Pro V1's (and similar) enough to get their potential level of performance. For whatever reason, the Velocity goes further. Around the greens I didn't notice any difference, but frankly I'm not good enough to spin any of them back.
