Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy One Down Fall I have been looking for a golf GPS watch that I could use to replace my smartphone and was very excited to find the S4. I was very happy to see in the description that it would send me notifications from my smartphone. It is a great looking watch and the touch screen and display are easy to use and read. Here is the draw back. It was only after I received the watch that I found out that the S4 only works with I-Phones. I contacted Garmin and they told me they are looking into the compatibility.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent enhancement to anyone's golf experience The Garmin S4 GPS Watch provides a true enhancement over hand held golf GPS devices. It facilitates focus on one's golf game, without having to take time-out to consult with a device. It's on your wrist and provides the accurate info one needs without interrupting the golf experience. It's very convenient to be able to enter your score and strokes as you walk off a green. Also, very handy is the Bluetlooth link to one's smart phone to get any notifications sent to you, in a discrete way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loved it Bought this as a bday gift for myself. Tried it out for the first time and it was within 1-2 yards of the gps that was on the golf cart. It was a wet day so 90degree rule was on for the carts. I was able to get a rough idea of how far I was out before walking up to my ball. So I'd grab 2 clubs and choose one when I got to my ball and saw the actual distance. Was great to just look at my wrist, then choose a club and swing away. Very comfortable on my wrist and didn't affect my swing at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Distances, but Notification feature is Useless I had the S3 watch that I bought when it was first released in 2012, always liked it alot and knew it was always spot on because I would test with a laser range finder. I sold my other and bough this. All works just as good as the last one with better features except the NOTIFICATIONS feature RARELY works. It worked for about 8 holes the first time and then it has worked one time since. This is a problem and have heard it is like this for a lot of people. May not be worth the upgrade from S3.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely satisfied with this product. I purchased this watch because I knew I don't like to mess around with handheld devices, but still wanted accurate distances. This watch id extremely convenient, accurate, and not bothersome. Scoring system and stats tracking are very easy and convenient, but I do wish there were more stat features when you plug the watch into the computer. The Bluetooth feature is useless. I am 21, very tech savvy, and it always acts up on me so I turned it off, DO NOT factor this feature into decision.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The S4 is good but still pretty basic as compared to the previous generations. I have used the S4 a number of times and although it suggests that you get layup and dogleg yardages, I have not found that to be as useful as I expected. The dogleg info has not really reflected short and long info and layup info still requires some work. A friend just got the S1 and used it the first time when we played and his info was just as good as the S4 for 1/3 the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't Show Hazards I've purchased both this watch and a Bushnell model this year and returned them both. The Garmin at any level doesn't show you course hazards unless you program them in while playing on the course. This doesn't help at all for new courses. Save your money and buy a WR67 online which I found as the only watch with pre-loaded hazards. You'll thank me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use even for beginners I have improved my game since I started using this watch. I don't need the precise distances to the pin, although this watch will allow you to move the pin to get it, I find the front, middle and back distances give me enough information to make a better decision on club selection.
