Rated 5 out of 5 by from great clubs I went into the store fully expecting to buy the mizuno JPX-850, the guy at the store had me try the Calloways. I have never even considered Calloway clubs before. I consistently hit the 6 iron 175-190, I normally hit a 6 around 170. I figured it was a setup and they adjusted their simulator so I would "hit farther". After getting used to them I am now hitting consistently 1 1/2 to 2 clubs longer and with great ball flight. I love these clubs, I just have to always remind myself to club down so I don't blow by the greens. What others say is true about them losing the "new" look quickly but who cares. I bought these to play golf not look at.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long and True Best irons I've ever hit....by far! I upgraded from Callaway X-18s to the XRs and they are at least one, sometimes two clubs longer. Solid feel when I strike the ball in the center of the club face and the mishits aren't nearly as bad. I'm still adjusting to the extra length I'm getting from these clubs but that's a nice problem to have! Bottom line is I hit eight different brands of irons, which ranged in price from $700-$1200, before purchasing these clubs. The Callaway XRs outperformed the other seven by far. Made my decision very easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Set of Clubs I bought these to upgrade my 15 year old clubs. It was a great decision. I hit several brands in the $700 and under range and these were the best in my opinion. When I got out on the course for the very first time, these clubs performed. I was making shots I've never made before in my life. The ball just exploded off the face, even on mishits. My old clubs had me at about 150yds with a 7 iron. Now I'm comfortably hitting 160yds with an 8 iron. I usually shoot in the 110s to 120s, my first round out, with only maybe 15 or so practice shots, I shot a 91. I'm usually the first one to say it's not the clubs, it's the player, but in this case, it was definitely the clubs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing short of the best! Easily the best set of clubs I've ever hit. I was undecided on which brand to purchase, so I must have hit 8 different brands. I didn't hit any of the others as far or as straight as the Xr, and I've always been partial to Pings. I hit the 7 iron easily 40 yds farther than my last set of irons, and even the mishits were very forgiving. Plus you can't beat the Xr launch pre-sale promotion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NEW IRONS I have been playing with the same set of irons for the last 20 years. I finally decided to purchase a new set since I recently retired. Tried a number of different brands of clubs and settled on the Callaway XR. There is no question about it, I absolutely hit the ball better. These clubs have a much larger "sweet spot" than my old ones, so anytime I hit a little bit off center I can still end up with a good shot. Over the years I have been losing distance (retired-remember!) these have added 7-10 yards to my game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from XR Irons are the real deal! I spent almost a month researching and trying different clubs. I kept saying there has to be something wrong with these XR irons, they are WAY longer and really easy to hit. Finally ordered a set and after a full fitting I couldn't be happier! The new irons are over 15 yards longer per club from my previous set and because of a proper fitting they are straighter than my previous set. If you are sampling irons or kicking new ones around, I can't scream from the mountain tops enough, try the XR irons from Callaway!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very forgiving I bought these clubs about a month ago. Now every time when I go out to play, I don't have to worry about whether or not I'm going to get it all the way to the hole. Striking is pure even when I miss hit. Unfortunately, I have to re-establish my distances, since the ball goes about 20% further on every shot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Irons Had no intention of buying these, was hitting other major brands in simulator. Employee suggested trying these. Consistent 20+yds longer on each club, which has carried over to range. A mishit on these carries as far as a square hit on my old irons
