I am a firm believer that with proper fundamentals (grip, stance, posture, etc) any player, regardless of current ability, can improve. It is essential that we teach and adapt with what the student already has. Big changes in golf are difficult and I believe the best success comes from applying correct fundamentals to a student's own swing. Our goal is to teach you a method to improve.

Teaching Principles:

There is little more enjoyable or rewarding than the feeling of hitting a solid golf shot or hitting a shot just as you had pictured it. These are the experiences I wish for my students and I teach for those results.

Proper fundamentals and good use of the swing's levers are essential for consistent ball striking and maximum distance. Once those are learned, we expand further into creative shot making or other areas the golfer wishes.

PGA Profile

Birthplace: Lexington, NC

Career Highlights:

A PGA Professional for 25 years and a Class A member of the PGA since 1990, Greg has extensive experience in all forms of golf instruction. As head professional at carolina Golf Club in Charlotte for more than ten years, he led a rejuvenated junior golf program to two interclub finals and had four students go on to college scholarships. With thousands of private lessons and hundreds of clinics administered, teaching has always been his first pasion in golf.

Teaching Principles:

The most important thing that any coach can introduce to a student is how to make the game more fun. Fun, of course, is defined differently by everyone. For some it is simply learning to make contact, for some it is reaching thier fullest potential as golfers, for competitive golfers it is honing those skills until they hold up under the crucible of competition. The coach's job is to uncover the ambition and dreams of the student, and to use the student’s physical and mental ability to plan the best way to reach those goals. Within every person, their is a golf swing. It is the coach's job to find it, refine it and build upon it.

  • Won Carolinas Open Championship in 1986

  • 1989 co-founded Precision Golf School

Teaching Principles:

All instruction must begin with fundamentals so a solid foundation can be established. We all desire a golf swing that will produce results and have lasting consistency. My job is to help players understand their own golf swing and what it produces. By taking indoor lessons at Golf Galaxy, and with the use of video and graphics we can determine cause and effect of the swing, rather that relying on ball flight. Video is a powerful aid to both the player and the instructor in determining the correct adjustments.

Of course there are many ways to swing the club, but understanding what the swing produces is one of our goals as we journey toward helping you become a better player.
