I have been looking for a new ball because the prices are ridiculous. I typically play a NXT but the price went up. So I played a round today with the u3 and I was very surprised with the feel and distance of the ball. I got great check on short chips and the ball and not too much spin out of the box. I hit my drive 260-80ish and I was nervous the low compression may be bad but it was not. The ball just kept going and I got roll after landing. Give them a shot you will be happy.
Good Ball for the Money

Overall, the Maxfli U3 is a ball worth looking at. Nice feel on all shots. This ball, even with its Urethane cover, does not spin wildly off the driver. Decent spin on approach shots. Only complaint, cover durability is not the greatest... scuffs easily. Good ball, though.

Recently played this ball wow. I played on a private country club with a retired professional football player. He laughed when he saw I was using Maxfli but when I outdrove him most of the day he was shocked. He used one of mine on a par 4 325 yards and almost flew the green. Compared to his Pro v1 he was very shocked at the performance of the ball and considered using this ball in the future. I have nothing negative to say regarding this ball its awesome.
Very Good Ball
Dr. Mike from San Diego, CA | 5/12/2012 11:52 PM
I played a sleeve today and found these balls to be very good. A surprise for sure. I typically play Pro V1x’s but the club repair guy at my local Golf Galaxy recommended the Maxfli U3s. I was a satisfied Maxfli customer in the 70s and 80s but they’ve disappeared in the last 5 years or so. I can now report these are very good, very ProV like but longer with more spin. The only downside is the cover doesn’t last very long. A good wedge and you have to reach for another ball.
Cover will scuff SUBSTANTIALLY after one hit with a wedge
ERIC PAUL SWANSON from Chicago, IL | 5/9/2012 8:12 AM
I can not accurately review the overall performance of this ball since after only one crisp strike with a wedge will rip layers off the cover, rendering the ball unplayable. I literally switched to a new ball every hole in one round until all 12 were scuffed. yes, urethane is soft, and this will happen to some degree with any urethane ball, but MAXFLI is really putting the cheap stuff on these. Have tried most urethane balls - and others are much better value and last longer.
